Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the prestigious Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's success, the skilled performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English received Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected seven awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only 4 categories—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by critics.
